Default Things to know before buying an aged domain

You can never rush when you’re planning to buy an aged domain. There are a lot of things that you need to check and validate before you purchase a domain name. Buying a property is similar with buying a domain. They are both expensive and they are both profitable only if you buy the right purchase. If you land on an expired domain with good rank and popularity score it would be really good for your business but just like a property with infertile land and bad location, an aged domain with bad reputation could really put all of the fortune that you spend into waste.

    Expired domain Facts:

Expired domains are dropped or not renewed by their previous owners. There are a lot of reasons why domains are dropped by their owners, it can be because the owner lost his interest, too busy to manage the domain, Can’t finance the domain any further or the business of the owner has been shut down. These are only few of the reasons why.

If the domain that you’re planning to buy has been dropped because of these reasons then there’s nothing to worry about.

The Danger of buying an Aged Domain.

There are countless reasons why owners drop their domain. Like what I've said if the domain has been dropped due to the reasons stated above then you’re in good hands, BUT one common reason why a domain is not renewed is because it has been tagged as spam and has been banned on search engines. You wouldn't really know unless you make a research. It’s even easier to purchase a property, At least you’ll know the history of the property which is something that you can’ easily do with aged domains.

Expired domains that are band are worth nothing and can’t be used. Since the ban is permanent. You can always file for an appeal however; doing so will cost you more money, time and effort. That is why domainers who have been victimized by banned domains just leave it as it is and charge it to experience.

How to check the reputation of an Expired Domain?

1.Utilize the tools that you can see on the internet. Always make your research before buying. There are a lot of tools available over the web that you can download to check for the Aged domain that you’re planning to buy.
-Check for the history of the domain.
-Check how is used by the previous owner
-check for the validity of the PR and popularity score.

2.Do a background check of the Domain Seller before purchasing the domain.
-Ask if the domain name has a site or has been used for an online business.
-How many domains does the seller owns (IF he owns a lot, It could be a danger sign and might be selling the domain name to interlink with other domains to increase the popularity his site.)

Here are the tips that you follow so you will never go wrong. Purchasing an aged domain needs a lot of research and thinking involved. Aged domain can give your business an instant leap or cripple it in just a second.

The domain needs to have at least 100 back links to be worth the purchase. Ideally, it should also be a PR 3 or PR 4. Age alone is not enough.

I agree with it. Some aged domains may baned by search engine and if so our efforts is nothing. So better you buy a new one and build your reputation yourself.

Older the domain, the more value to carries with regard to SEO. But, wait.

Wayback machine was found in 1996. You should not consider buying any domain that was there on the web before the 1996.

Most of the times, this is not an issue. Because, most of the domain names are acquired after 2000.
